Hygiene & Responsibility Guidelines

Cakeswap events bring together home bakers who prepare and share their creations in a community setting. All food is prepared in private, non-professional kitchens that are not inspected or approved by the Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit (NVWA).

Participants are fully responsible for preparing their bakes in a safe and hygienic manner, in line with general food safety practices. This includes washing hands thoroughly before and during baking, working on clean and sanitized surfaces, and using properly cleaned equipment and utensils. Participants should maintain good personal hygiene at all times and must not prepare food if they are unwell or experiencing symptoms that could affect food safety. All ingredients must be fresh, suitable for consumption, and stored correctly.

Participants are responsible for providing accurate information about the ingredients used in their bakes, including the presence of common allergens such as gluten, dairy, nuts, eggs, and soy, in accordance with EU food information guidelines. However, Cakeswap cannot guarantee that any food is free from allergens or cross-contamination.

Participants are also responsible for the safe storage, handling, and transport of their baked goods, including maintaining appropriate temperatures and protecting food from contamination.

Cakeswap.nl acts solely as an event organizer and platform within the meaning of applicable Dutch law and does not prepare, handle, inspect, or control any food brought by participants. Cakeswap.nl does not verify compliance with food safety regulations and provides no guarantees regarding the safety, quality, or suitability of any food shared during the event.

By attending or participating in a Cakeswap event, you acknowledge and accept that participation is at your own risk. This includes, but is not limited to, risks related to foodborne illness, allergic reactions, or other health-related issues.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cakeswap.nl accepts no liability for any damage, loss, injury, or illness resulting from the preparation, sharing, or consumption of food and drinks at the event.

Participants remain fully responsible for their own actions and agree to follow these guidelines in order to contribute to a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
